THE CAPE ARGUS RACE 2012

CAPE ARGUS RACE AND LIFECYCLE EXPO IN CAPE TOWN 2nd MARCH 2018

Each year over 40,000 riders from all four corners of the world take part in this challenging cycling trek (110 km).

The route starts in the centre of Cape Town, covers the majority of the Cape Peninsula and finishes in the Green Point Stadium just outside the city centre. The descent of Chapmans Peak drive even has fire brigade helicopter dumping water on a fire! The Argus Tour is a fantastic ride, thanks in part to the spectacular views.

Tourism Expo - Focus on the Western Cape

Cape Town Tourism is the City of Cape Town's Official Regional Tourism Organisation, responsible for destination marketing, visitor and industry services. Cape Town is proud to be the host city of the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour; the world’s largest individually timed cycle race and long standing showcase of Cape Town’s ability to host major international sporting events.
The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour provides a significant economic injection for the Western Cape economy with more than 60% of entrants to the Cycle Tour being from outside the Western Cape. A key element of Cape Town Tourism’s domestic strategy is to leverage events as part of our national marketing campaign and to use existing events like the Cape Argus to stimulate domestic tourism arrivals.
The Cape Argus Lifecycle Expo has gone from strength-to-strength since its launch as a health and fitness exhibition and now boasts a tourism expo, showcasing experiences in Cape Town and the Western Cape to an economically active group of people who enjoy travel, the outdoors and consumer regular holidays.
