Visit the Bascule Bar for a slice of Cape Town's social energy. This Cape Town whisky and wine bar looks over the calm water of a private V&A Waterfront marina. Full of gleaming yachts, it sets the scene for a relaxed gathering of Cape Town locals and international guests.
By day the Bascule Bar is a lively and vibrant destination, the ideal place to enjoy breakfast, a cappuccino or light lunch. By night, the space is transformed into a glamorous Whisky, Wine and Cocktail Bar, where connoisseurs and social butterflies gather in equal measure to enjoy a slice of Cape Town's social life.
Situated in the centre of the lobby, within the very heart of the resort, is Vista Bar & Lounge. As its name suggests, incredible panoramic views of Table Mountain are enjoyed through a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass. Here, guests may gather to enjoy all-day dining, a spectacular Afternoon Tea, and evenings filled with music and an electric vibe.
In the evening, Vista unveils itself as a sophisticated cocktail lounge serving classic favorites such as the Bloody Mary, Kir Royale, Manhattan, Mojito, Daiquiri, Side Car and Old Fashioned. In keeping with the One&Only spirit of providing a strong sense of place, the beverage menu takes inspiration from the ancient spice routes around the Cape of Good Hope for flavour combinations, whilst a number of rare and vintage spirits are imported.
Each cocktail is offered in its traditional form as well as with fresh twists, merging the original recipes with modern flavours and local influences. The Manhattan is also served as a smoked tea-infused straight Kentucky bourbon stirred with aromatic bitters and sweet honey, served over rich candy floss.
