Don Albert & Partners is an award-winning international
design firm specializing in the architecture, urban design and interior design
of hospitality, leisure and transportation infrastructure. Founded in 1996 by
Fulbright Scholar and UCLA Masters graduate Don Albert, Don Albert &
Partners have received international acclaim for South Africa’s Millennium
Tower, Durban, the high-performance at the University of Pretoria, the
Proud Heritage Clothing Campus and the iconic Organic House in Cape Town,
amongst others.
About Don Albert
(abbreviated version)
Fulbright scholar Don Albert returned to South Africa in
1999, after two years in Los Angeles completing his Masters in Architecture
(Urban Design) at the University of California, Los Angeles, and another year
as design associate at the office of AIA Gold Medallist Barton Myers, Beverly
Hills.

Since 2010, they have repositioned the core of their
business firmly into Asia with the opening of an office in Singapore. Their current
projects in Asia include the US$750m Sudarshan Wheel tourism project in Delhi,
the Voyager Hotel in Bali and the Viking project – an international hospitality
project involving one of world’s leading hotel brands.
Design principal Don Albert is an active participant in the
current architectural debate, exhibiting and lecturing extensively, and has
recently published a monograph SOUND SPACE DESIGN, the Architecture of Don
Albert & Partners.

Since returning to South Africa, Don steered Don Albert
& Partners through a number of critically acclaimed projects, including the
winning design for the Millennium Tower, Durban, the highperformancentre, at
the University of Pretoria, and the award winning Proud Heritage Clothing
Campus, Durban, recently published in Phaidon’s World Atlas of 21st Century
Architecture.
