Take the N2 from Cape Town to Addo National Elephant Park and stop in Riviersonderend for the best pies at Ou Meul Bakkery.  There are several amazing towns where you can overnight to break up the trip two boutique hotels that stand out amongst the rest; one situated in the Wilderness the other in Plettenberg Bay

During my visit to the Addo region, I made the deliberate choice to stay atop Zuurberg, at the enchanting retreat known as Camp Figtree. This decision was fueled by my affinity for tranquility and scenic vistas visible from every room. Camp Figtree effortlessly fulfilled all my preferences, ensuring a serene and picturesque experience. The exceptional staff went above and beyond, exhibiting unparalleled hospitality. The curated set menu for both dinner and breakfast proved to be outstanding, adding to the overall excellence of my stay.
